A unique design that really works!
The short version:
I bought this gun safe because it solved my issue of having limited mounting options, while retaining the quick access through electronic entry. The other safes I found online of similar size with electronic entry could not be mounted (in the space I had) in a way that didn't block either their door or keypad, or they were simply too big for what I needed. Overall, I am very happy with this gun safe.

Pro's:
- Design and flexibility in mounting options. Why didn't someone think of this sooner?!
- Foolproof programmable electronic entry with a physical key backup
- Nice white internal floodlight
- You can turn the electronic keypad "beep" sound on/off
- When mounted using bigger hardware (that you supply), the safe feels rock solid

Con's:
- The mechanical whining noise as the electronic latch locks/unlocks isn't quiet
- The white internal floodlight might be too bright for some people
- The "L"...
Not a safe but does exactly what I want it to.
I picked this up because I have a daughter that just started to walk. I like to keep my gun close and ready in my night stand but then I was afraid she could find it so I put in up high in the closes but then I had no quick access. My plan was to mount it on the side of my nightstand between my bed and nightstand. I went to the hardware store and picked up some nuts/bolts and washers because I feel the small wood type screw that came with it would pull out much quicker then either prying it open or breaking the night stand. As some reviews have said it is not a thick case and I feel it will not keep it safe if some one really wants it. BUT for my reason of just keeping my kid (and soon to me another) out of it while still maintaining fairly quick access I believe does the job to the T.

It would be a 5 star if it was a thicker case and added more security rather then feel it could be pried open relatively easy.( The security it provides is still better then just leaving open...
So far I'm impressed
I just got this in and installed it in our bedroom. It's mounted on the bed's headboard (between the bed and nightstand). Easy access and child security. The interior light is appreciated, too.

I've read the other reviews about the "noise" and there's truth to their claims. But it doesn't seem problematic to me (I disabled the "beep" per the instructions). If there's a crisis I don't think the unlatching sound of the Gun Vault is going to be an issue.

I also like the unlimited number of button combinations. If you read the instructions carefully, you'll notice that an "entry" can consist of TWO buttons pressed simultaniously. Makes for a quick code that would be virtually impossible to guess (unlike other units with just four buttons/entries).

Moultrie D-555i 8MP No Glow Infrared Wide Angle Camera

Easy right out of the box
I have owned several brands of trail cameras over the years. They all become inoperable over time but when you need a trail camera I seem to be drawn to Moultrie. They held up the best around this price range. I expect this one will dud out eventually but for now after one day and night of use in the field, here is my review.

Very easy to set up and install. You almost do not need directions if you have had past experiences with other trail cams.

Better strap now is provided. If you worry about security don't. Any committed thief will get this camera off the tree. It does have a security code that perhaps would be able to hack the code but for your common thief, I think they would not have enough intelligence to break the code.

Day time video is very nice. I am using SanDisk Extreme Pro 8 GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 95MB/s SDSDXPA-008G-AFFP and I set the trail camera to the highest setting. Very rich and colorful picture. Pretty good night...
Works GREAT
Easy to set up and use. Purchased this due to a land dispute with a neighbor that was removing/destroying survey markers. This unit caught them in the act.
Love the view screen.
Excellent trail camera. I like the built-in view screen, which allows you to see what you are actually taking a video of. The only issue, the motion detection is VERY sensitive and no adjustment. The wide angle lens covers soo much area, any movement in the trees or bushes will trigger the camera.

Great images and the sound is excellent. The mic is VERY sensitive, I could hear a coyote lapping up water from my wildlife watering tank. Being a unidirectional mic it picks up sounds from all around the camera, which is a bit distracting in the wind. I fashioned a small cardboard cover, so the mic picks up better from the direction the camera is pointed.

6/28/2013 Something happened to the memory on this camera, it no longer kept the video settings once programmed and failed back to the photo mode. Returned it to Moultrie.

Vanguard 10x42 Binocular with ED Glass (Black)

Vanguard makes great binoculars but I like the 8.5 X 45 better than the 10X40
I finally decided that I like to bird watch enough and make enough money to justify purchasing a really good pair of binoculars. Over the years I have had many pairs of under $100 binoculars and also own a slightly more expensive pair of compact Pentax binos so, I'm used to looking through lower cost binos. I read many online reviews before my purchase. Vangaurd binoculars seems to consistently be rated as a best buy. I was willing to spend 3 or 4 hundred dollars on a pair of binoculars but I wasn't willing to spring for a grand. Vangaurds, especially with ED glass, seemed to compare favorably to much more expensive binos.

I did a side by side comparison of this binocular and the Vangaurd Endeavor 8.5 X 45 version. I actually thought I was going to want the higher power 10x42 version of the Endeavor. Based on my cheaper binoculars, I tended to like my 10 power binoculars better than lower powered ones. It look very little time to determine that the 8.5x45 binoculars...
Great set of Binoculars
Bought these binos because of a review I read. I must admit that I was a little apprehensive as back in the early 90's I had a set of Bausch and Lomb Elites costing well in excess of $1000 and these had a lot of living up to do! Well I would not hesitate in recommending these binos to anyone. They may not have a 'big player' name but if you get the chance take a look at them and then compare them to a pair of Leica or Swarovski's I promise you will be very surprised. I was.
I am an avid birder and light transmission and clarity without chromatic aberration is paramount. I do not think I would justify spending a couple of thousand dollars when to me these are just as good.
Great Binos for the money
These are excellent binoculars. You won't find better quality and clarity for the money period. I've looked at $1,000 binoculars such as the Zeiss conquest HD's for a while now knowing I need some new binoculars for hunting season. But cringe every time I think about spending that much money to see something far away. I have never heard of this brand before until I searched here on Amazon. Saw some great reviews and decided to give them a shot. I was pleasantly surprise to say the least. I wear glasses so the adjustable eye piece is a great feature. The clarity and focus are great. They feel high quality. I can tell you right now, in my opinion there is not a $600 difference between these and the high dollar binoculars. I really cant think of something I dont like about them to be honest.

Canon 10x30 IS Ultra-Compact Binoculars (Black)

Why image stabilization is a revolution in binoculars
If you want to get a quick idea why image stabilization (IS) is the next revolution in binoculars, that's easy: take any binoculars that you can get and look through them at some object (a printed page of paper with several font sizes is ideal). Then look again at the same object from the same distance, but this time with the binoculars moudnted on a steady support (don't touch em!). You will notice that the actual resolution increases by a factor of at least 2 or 3 when mounted. That is, you can discern details that are at least two or three times smaller, because mounting eliminates the smear caused by the shaking of your hands. IS is like having this support available any time and anywhere you need it by a push of a button! In most conditions, the practical resolutions I can get with my Canon IS cannot be matched by any hand-held, unstabilized binoculars in the market, including those fancy Nikons, Swarovskis, Leicas and Zeiss that cost three or four times as much. A real surprise
I've been a binocular junkie for years. I've specialized in high end glasses, particularly Leitz, Swarovski and Hensoldt (when I could get them). Two years ago, in anticipation of a trip to Kenya where I would spend the days in a moving LandRover, I thought I'd try the (then new) Cannon 10x30 Image Stabilizers. I was just blown away! The optics are excellent and the weight is surprisingly light. But the image stabilizing feature is just fabulous. There is simply no wiggle when holding these binoculars (and I'm a big coffee drinker). While they won't compensate for big rolls, jumps and twists in a moving car, they eliminate all the vibration and result in much less eye fatigue. In my opinion, it's a case of technology having obsoleted a very fine product. Take my word, do not spend over $500 for fixed binoculars without first trying the image stabilized Cannons. It's a revelation.
These will be much used because they are uniquely useable
A grad student tried a pair of these Canon image stabilized binoculars at an observatory's star party and while he thought the binocs were very fine, he didn't agree with all the other astronomers around him that they were that much better than normal binocs..........

As for myself, I read every review I could find before deciding to purchase these 10x30 IS Canon binocs. I've had them for nearly a week now and have done some careful observing and decided to share my thoughts to help others who may be "sitting on the fence" and worried about the occasional bad review seen here or elsewhere.

I will be using these binocs for many kinds of observing , but

mostly for astronomy, nature observing and for the fun of using them -- they are very enjoyable to just plain use 'em.

Fire safe with some nice extra security features
This is the third Sentry Safe I own, and like the others I am really impressed by how sturdy and well-made this one is. It has everything I could want in a fire safe; very high quality construction, great fire safety, multiple security features, and enough space to store my valuables.

Security - Being about 100+ pounds without anything in it, it's not the kind of safe someone is going to easily walk off with. It also comes with two four-inch bolts and two shorter bolts that can be drilled into the floor for an extra level of security. The door hinges are very thick, solid and have no spots for someone to pry. You need both a key and a combination to open the safe. The combination that comes with the safe cannot be changed, so make sure not to lose your numbers.

Size - The interior is roomy; definitely enough space for the average person to store their basic valuable documents, jewelry, some electronics, etc. There is a removable shelf that can be placed on 9...
There are a few thing to know about this safe.
I looked at alot of safes and reviews and found this safe to be cheaper at Lowe's for 149.00 but with no
key lock. Works great for me just another thing to loose. When I read the instructions about mounting it
to the floor it notes that this will void your water resistant warranty. Because you have to drill holes
thru the bottom of the safe. Then it goes on saying even it you don't drill holes to mount it on the floor
condensation will form on the inside of the safe and you must open the safe every 2 weeks to air it out or
things you have in the safe you don't want to get damp will. WOW, that amazing you buy there safe to keep
your valuables safe and the safe itself can ruin them. So I guess now I will have to get some good zip-lock
bags and put everything in before I put them in the safe. I still kept the safe but I'll take extra measures
to protect the contents. Just thought you should know before you buy.
Impressive Home Safe
I read a lot of following reviews for this product and there seem to be several about shipping damage. I decided to purchase this safe at the local Home Depot and it was listed at $159.00 as the normal price. I was expecting a heavy safe and indeed it was. Thinking the weight would be a good deterrent for thieves I wanted to see how difficult it was to carry the safe by myself. I was able to carry the safe (inside the box) up three flights of stairs to my apartment by myself (without stopping)... although I was extremely winded after my experiment. When I took the safe out of the box I had trouble lifting it, let alone moving it somewhere in the house. The outside is extremely slippery and there would have been no way of carrying this by myself for any long distances. I had trouble carrying it to a new room in my apartment. Barnett Jackal Crossbow Package (Quiver , 3 - 20-Inch Arrows and Premium Red Dot Sight)

Great bow
Went together easy, UPS showed up at 5:30 and had my first bolt in the target by 7. 3 bull eyes with out even adjusting the scope. Found out my $17.95 wall-mart target not tough enough for this bad boy. I was a little worried about the 7lbs weight but did not know it was setup for a shoulder strap. Love the 3 point led scope. Only negative thing is I wish it had the 4 bolt quiver instead of the 3 bolt quiver, but after shooting it don't think I'll need it... What ever gets in front of this thing is freezer meat! I bought the Panzer V last season, and really liked it, but wanted to get something with a little more punch, I think i found it....

I am new to crossbows, before this one i had never shot one, i got friends that have them and they love it. i read the reviews and compared specs to other crossbows, and settled with this one, i didnt want to spend a whole lot incase i didnt like it. As it turns out, i love this weapon, its very accurate right out of the box, comes with everything u need to get started except broadheads for hunting. you do get practice tips and one tube of wax. you need to wax string every 5-10 shots, sounds like a chore but its not, wax tube is like chapstick and easy to apply. Buy a redhot roller cocker with it and its almost effortless to cock the 150lb bow. useing fingers is possible but fingers were sore after 5 times and didnt want to do it again. i designated 1 of the 3 arrows for practice by marking the fletching with a sharpie, used the same arrow and tip for practice over and over, even shot thru my target and into an aluminum table, and didnt dull the tip, or ruin the fletching. it is very...
Great for beginners(like myself)
Not too hard to assemble, and fires very accurately. Just as a warning, this is not a toy obviously, it fires plenty fast enough to kill or seriously injure somebody. And make sure while firing your fingers on your hand opposite of your firing hand, you keep your fingers low so the cable doesn't hit our fingers when it fires. This happened to me last week and i needed my thumb nail removed, stitches and the thumb was fractured. This is still a very good crossbow that has a very comfortable feel. The red dot sight is very nice, it has 5 brightness settings for both red and green dots. The bolts(crossbow arrows) are practice arrows but still pretty sharp. I would highly recommend this crossbow!

Moultrie Panoramic 150 8MP Infrared Game Camera

A trail cam with true "peripheral " vision
It is amazing how new ideas just keep emerging in this industry. I purchased this camera to monitor a small rectangular plot along the entrance lane to our property. Thus it monitors both wildlife and human activity. This camera is perfect for a tree on the edge of a woodlot facing out into the open. Minor caveats - If you are not familiar with panoramic shots - be aware that they are very wide but not very tall at all. This makes them difficult to view in the field with a hand held viewer. However, set in single shot mode, this camera should still have excellent "peripheral vision" with standard images. I plan to test that mode next.

Overall this appears to be an excellent, well built camera that will significantly expand the field of view compared with traditional models. In recent years, I have also found Moultrie cameras much more reliable with longer life span that the other "industry leading" brand that is now turning out models that look great but...
Good Camera
Pictures are clear and the motion sensor used appears to be sensitive enough to pick up and record most of the animals/action that occur. I have had other cameras that did not pick up well more than a few yards away, but this one seems to catch all relevant actions.
Fabulous pictures!
The panoramic pictures are really great, the view is so wide and captures everything in the area. The night picture have more detail than other cameras we have tried.

Wildgame Innovations Halo X Ray 600 Laser Range Finder

Awesome for the price!
Bought for my husband who is a bowhunter. We got it in the mail and just HAD to try it out. Went out on the front porch and was ranging things down the street. I like how it tells you the angle and the distance. There are several different modes such as with or without angle technology or in yards or meters. It's very easy to use. Didn't even need to use the manual (which is good because my husband never reads them). It's quick to give a reading, which is good in a hunting situation. Only problem is it takes a CR2 battery which I wasn't aware of until we got it. I had just assumed it would take a AA or something. Overall, VERY happy with the purchase! I can see getting many years of use. Also, it comes with a lens cleaning cloth and a carry case. Nice bonus.
Looks solid
Just received the halo 600 today . After messing around with it outside its fairly simple to use. Great clear optics. Only issue I have with it is the eye piece focus knob is a little hard to turn. Other than that for the price and with the angle intelligence it's a solid buy for your money especially if your a bowhunter like me...

Motorola MT352TPR FRS Weatherproof Two-Way - 35 Mile Radio Triple Pack - Silver

Test Results: Motorola MT352R vs Motorola MR350
Just to give you some background, I have been an Amateur radio enthusiast for about 3 decades now. I collect radios and I am a member of a Disaster volunteer radio group. I have 2 Base Stations and dozens of professional and consumer radios of all brands spanning 3 decades.

I really wanted to give you a very detailed comparison of these 2 radios. Prior to buying these radios I called up Motorola and Giant and got information from them about these MT352R handhelds. They told me that it is generally the same as the MR350 except that it is more forgiving to bad weather and has a much better battery. I ordered them and when they arrived I did a side by side comparison with my favorite consumer radio, the Motorola MR350. I have 4 of MR350s and I have had them for about 4 years now, and they are still working great. So when I did my field test I was expecting the same performance out of both radios in terms of distance and clarity.

Here is my side by side...
Radio Check
These radios are great for the price. We use them for camera crews working different areas of large convention centers. Fair communication indoors up to 1/2 mile, nothing beyond that. Still much better than other lesser distance radios. No interferance either way with pro audio equipment. I recommend you buy better headsets, the supplied units all only worked intermittantly, not dependable. battery life needed watching, would go from 2/3 down to zero. Seemed like the display was not refreshing often enough to help, just charge them daily for heavy use, every other day for random day use. great product for this semi-pro price range.
Best audio clarity
We own a few radios but this is the best one yet. The audio clarity is great! Flashlight is a cool addition and the fact that it charges through mini-usb. I hated those bulky chargers, never liked carrying those along and never understood why they would not do the same as they do for their cellphones.

Pleased in East Texas
I received this product and am very pleased. I've had a lot of luck with these small Bushnell cameras. Battery life is great and trigger speed is also quite good. For clarification, this IS the 2011 model with the field scan. Up to 8 Meg images. My only semi negative feedback would be that with field scan you can only set one time period, so if you are going to take images during the morning and evening periods you basically have to include the entire day or the entire night. The entire night would definitely wear down the batteries (IR flash). I imagine it is a simple software fix that Bushnell will put out in the future. I own Moultries at the same price point and far prefer my Bushnells. I simply can't choke out the cash for the Reconyx cameras. They are entirely too pricey to have a sufficient quantity of them to try to understand the deer herd on the size property where I hunt. I can get five Bushnells for the price of two Reconyx. Great trail cam
I have owned several diffferent trail cams over the past 5 years. Some good, some just fair, some bad. The battery life and the fire up response time to take a picture is very important. I recently purchased 2 of these bushnell trail cams. Both the battery life and the response time for the Bushnell are excellent. Battery life is awesome, and the trigger time is so quick I rarely miss a picture. I can honestly say this is the best trail cam I have ever owned.
Excellent for hunting, not so much for surveillance (mod 119436C)
First, this review is for the 119436C model.

I bought this camera for surveillance at my business (kind of a bridge-the-gap measure until I can get an effective surveillance system installed.) The camera takes good color pics in the daylight, and good black and white pics at night. The consistently effective range of this is around 50 feet, with occasional pick ups at 80 feet. Part of the reason for this is most likely the clean background area, anything moving through the area is "framed" by dirt, no moving bushes or background noise that will cause false triggers or interference.

The pictures are good, but I have noticed some slight distortion away from the center of the pictures, a slight fish eye effect.

My main problem with this unit is that the led's do glow a noticeable red color which is pretty noticeable in dark environments. The flash catches the eye kind of like something flitting by. I plan to move this unit to a more lit area to...

Surefire Ultra High Ouput LED Weaponlight, Black

Light Weapon!
After trying this fellow out on both a G19 and an AR15, I have to say it far exceeds my expectations. I played around with some other weapon lights but this guy is in its own class.

It mounts on my G4 G19 like it was designed specifically for the gun. A rock solid perfect fit. On the AR, it clings fiercely to a short rail I mounted on my Magpul handguard. Again, a smooth integrated look and feel.

So is it too much of anything? Only price, perhaps, but given that it works fine as a single-output 500 lumen flashlight, I guess that makes it about $50 more than a regular Surefire.

There are a couple ways to judge the brightness since that is a question often asked. For starters, is there too much light? Is that possible? Of course it is, but in this case, unless you are staring into your own weapon light, or hit a mirror at point blank, the amount of light all good for several reasons, and an integrated light makes it even better. But keep in mind this...
As expected - great quality, easy to mount, and BRIGHT!
The previous Surefire light (x300) was a very high-quality light, as you can see by the many high reviews. This one (Surefire x300 Ultra) is basically the same, but MUCH brighter. (besides the slight bevels on the end of the light, which look cool, but do nothing that I can tell).

Pros:
-incredibly sturdy feel
-easy to mount
-easy to install/replace batteries
-comes with the 2 required batteries
-SO bright (500 lumens vs the previous 170)
-price - though $299 seems a pretty hefty price for a light, when you consider the previous version (170 lumens) is $275, I'd consider paying only an additional $24 dollars for 500 lumens to be a great deal.
-ambidextrous (can use with right or left hand easily as it has a switch on both sides)
-still fits in the same holster as the x300

Surefire X300 Ultra If one is good then 2 has to be better
This is the most intense light I have ever owned I mounted it to my M-4 carbine and it is totally amazing I live out in the country and I have a small pasture behind my house my dogs like to bay pigs at night and this light illuminates the entire pasture making it quite easy to eliminate pesky pigs or any other varmint that may come around either 2 or 4 legged.I cant think of anything negative to say about this fine illumination tool. Moultrie M-880 8MP Low Glow Infrared Mini Game Camera

Moultrie M-880 beats Bushnell Trophy HD
I own several game cameras: Bushnell Trophy 8MP HD, Primos Truth Cam 35, and now a Moultrie M-880. I have been operating the Moultrie for 10 days so far. I've used the Bushnell for about 6 months. I've used the Primos for almost one year. The Moultrie clearly beats the Bushnell in several characteristics. (The Primos does not rank against these two cameras.)

1. In the field, and I know there are lab results that claim differently, but in the field, the Moultrie triggers faster than the Bushnell. This was easily noticeable in the first set of pictures I downloaded. I have had both cameras in the same position monitoring the same section of my driveway (we have a long driveway). The Bushnell often catches the very end of the rear quarter panel as a car is exiting the field of view. The Moultrie catches the front quarter panel as a car enters the field of view. Wow! Then it catches pictures of the entire car as it passes by. I knew that was significant at first...
Great camera for spying on feral cats
The only drawback was the memory card that comes with it is too small. Be sure to get Lithium batteries and at leat a 32GB card and you will get lots of hours of use and plenty of pictures.
Best value out there!
All things considered this camera is a super buy. I'm sure there are better cameras out there if you want to hang $600 on a tree and walk away. The only negative is that with the "freeze" motion thing on some of the detail is lost at night. This camera is well worth the money.

Garmin Foretrex 401 Waterproof Hiking GPS

Used in Combat with excellent results
I am currently deployed in Afghanistan and have used this GPS during my combat patrols for about two weeks now. I have found that it performs perfectly. It is easily configured for MGRS, the metric system, and the compass can be set for Mils which makes calling for polar fire missions very easy. I love the fact that I have a 10-digit grid on my wrist. It cuts down on weight, not having to lug a DAGR around, and as I am taking notes during Community Engagements I can grab the grid right off my wrist as I write. So far it has stood up to the insane temperature differences from day to night. It has stood up to the dust (which gets into EVERYTHING - and has ruined two of my digital cameras [including a so-called dust-proof one]) with flying colors. The batteries last about 8 hours and it takes AAAs which are easy to carry. You can easily beam waypoints from one GPS to another. For the military
I have not used this item extensively yet, but the setup process is quite simple. Im using this product for military purposes and finding which datum to put in was i a breeze (just read the manual) and i also verified. The 10 digit grid with a military map so i know it works. I really havent used any of the other features like the compass but ill update once i do. P.S. for ang other military grunts out there you'll want to set it to MGRS (military grid reference system) and for stateside use NAD27 CONUS (continental united states).
Garmin 401
Easy to use right out of the box. Gets a fix in less than 30 seconds and is water proof. This is a great piece of gear for any tactical environment or hiking and camping. I am currently using this in Afghanistan and would not want another GPS in this environment.

Simmons Lrf600 Laser Rangefinder

excellent for price
This rangefinder is my first and although I do not have anything to compare it with, it is pretty amazing.
I am not a hunter, and only bought this range finder because of the price, which I will get to later.
I live in Hershey PA and the Cabela's in Reading PA is a place I routinely meet my brother when we drop off each others kids to stay with each others family when they have school breaks, as was the case this past Thanksgiving.

Great value
I tried out several different ones at Gander mountain side by side. The all read the same distance to the same points across the store to the farthers which was 55 yards. None seemed to penetrate the glass at the front of the store as you could not read distance to the building across the parking lot. This one was as good as most and easier to see the readout than several. I bought it for $99, when the others were multiple times this price, one for $800. Now that would just be a waste of hard earned money to me. I will use it for all manner of hunting, and its compact size and easy quick use will be just what I need.

As an update, I used this throughout the hunting season and it was amazing. Thanks to this I knew where I could and could not take a shot, and it was in no small part responsible for me successfully bagging two deer.
Good, but laser accurate only close to the pin
I bought this rangefinder to use while playing golf. So, my review is based entirely on my experiences on the course using this rangefinder.

Since this is a ranging product, let me illustrate how reliable I've found this product's measurement is at various ranges:

1. 300 yards + : Completely unreliable. Can't use this even if your hands have the stability of a brain surgeon. If you do get a reading, it's usually incorrect nine times out of ten. The flag is simply too small a target for the accuracy limit (least count) of this rangefinder.

2. 200-300 yards : Somewhat reliable. It usually ends up getting you the distance of the trees/shrubs behind the pin, so you have to take several readings. The only time I've completely trusted its reading at this range was when I aimed at one of the members of the group ahead of me on the green - I could then corroborate that the reading was right based on the markers around me.

3. 100-200 yards: Very...

BARSKA Biometric Safe

Techno savvy teens CAN open this safe!
I recently received this biometric safe from Amazon. I ordered it on 8/15/10 and received it on 8/21/10 via fed-ex ground. The outer box was crushed on top but the safe was in perfect condition thanks to some very good packaging. Any past packaging/shipping problems have been fixed.

I ordered this safe because I wanted quick access to a weapon in a part of my home that is far removed from my gun collection. I decided I can open a biometric safe when my heart is racing much faster than I can a combination lock. I have two teenage children who I do want to have access to the weapon. Shortly after installing the safe and registering my fingerprints and my wife's fingerprints (We did several angles of our right index fingers per others suggestions), my 15 year old son WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE SAFE in 10 seconds using a trick he learned on the "Myth Busters" television show. As advertised
This is the only way I could think of to have quick access to a gun but keep it totally safe from kids. The safe has NEVER opened for anyone who has tried it without thier prints programed in it. The only times it has failed to open for me is if my finger is at quite an angle to the reader or not in very far, its not picky but you can also program it with your fingers at angles to avoid any problem. My only complaint would be that I wish there was a way to not have the loud beeper go off as you open it, kinda defeats the stealth effect.
INSTRUCTIONS ARE DANGEROUSLY FLAWED!
I'm giving this product one star only because I want to point out the dangerous flaw in the instructions to all buyers and potential buyers. Aside from this flaw in the instructions (not with the product itself) I find the product to be excellent - so please interpret this review accordingly. My one-star rating is a warning to users and not a judgement on the product itself.

I received the product this week and followed the set up process step by step as described in the user manual (dated 2008). I scanned each of my fingerprints and was happy to find that each would successfully open the safe. I stashed my loaded revolver and ammunition in the safe and locked the door, thinking all was secure. Two days later out of curiosity I had my 9-year-old daughter try to open the safe.
